Travel Insurance

Travel insurance can cover losses associated with your planned trip and give you peace of mind. Be sure to read the fine print though, and select a policy that is right for your circumstances. A couple things to keep in mind:

  • Take the time to consider what type of insurance you need. Are you looking for trip cancellation insurance, coverage for lost luggage, coverage for sickness or accidents that may occur during your trip. Also, be sure to check your existing insurance policies (home, auto, or even credit card) to see if you already have adequate coverage. A call to your insurance agent may save you a lot of time.
  • Be sure to read the coverage terms and conditions to determine whether you are purchasing unnecessary or inadequate coverage;
  • Look for insurance providers that offer 24/7 customer service;
  • Write down the toll-free telephone number for your insurance provider and keep it with you at all times.
  • Is the policy refundable and if so, under what circumstances?
